FARMGATE PLAYGROUND

Public BBQ

Farmgate Playground sits on a hillside with its towering centrepiece - a gigantic slide that begins in a tall tower and follows the natural slope of the terrain. It's the kind of playground that builds confidence in young ones, with heaps of room to run about and climbing equipment that challenges older kids. The BBQ facilities are well-positioned under large shelters alongside shaded picnic tables, making it ideal for family gatherings and birthday celebrations. The varied play equipment caters to different age groups, though it's particularly strong for primary school-aged children. However, there's one glaring omission that every visitor mentions: the complete absence of toilets. This oversight transforms what could be a perfect family destination into a logistical challenge, forcing parents to plan bathroom breaks elsewhere or cut visits short. It's particularly frustrating given the park's size and excellent facilities otherwise. The playground also struggles after wet weather, becoming less enjoyable when conditions aren't ideal. Despite these shortcomings, children absolutely love the space and the freedom it provides.
